For my 20% project I'm working on three different topics that I want to explore but I don't know which ones to actually engaged in. My first project is a work of love that I have tried and tried previously and have never completed and that is to play one song on the guitar. Recently, I was walking through our campus when I saw a few of my 8th graders sitting outside music class jamming together. I was so impressed by their ability to play a song because this is a goal I haven't been able to accomplish for lack of commitment. My second project is something completely different and it is more work related. For this I would like to learn how to make an app. As my school is going one on one with iPads I think it would be great for me to learn to how to create an app that helps teachers with high frequency words or math facts. My third and last option so far is to learn how to paddle board. I've always wanted to try this due to the fact that as I get older I need to keep more active then what I have done. So in order to create a healthier lifestyle I would like to learn how to do this. So with that in mind I'm creating a poll and you get to pick what I do for this project.

The Poll isn't up yet so my vote is paddle boarding - the pictures alone would be awesome. Of course I have always wanted to do it too but deathly afraid of sharks so sticking to the fresh water.

I like the idea of paddle boarding the best. I see such a need to find balance in our lives, and when I spend time outdoors, I always am a better teacher, student, friend, etc. As I have become older, I am learning that if I do not make time for my daily exercise, everyone suffers. I like the idea that paddle boarding is outside, too. There is something so refreshing from spending time in nature! This idea has elements of play and plenty of opportunity for failure, too. I remember how hard it was just to carry the paddle board from my friend's truck to the water when I first started learning. Good luck.
